40 years later, a filmmaker puts his footsteps in those of Corneille Jest, a French anthropologist who did outstanding work on the Dolpo people in Nepal during the sixties. What happened to this unique civilization, described by the Tibetologist Snellgrove as "one of the last areas of pure Tibetan culture in the world”? With his camera, Hervé Tiberghien will explore this traditional society, and will try to find out what became of it after its inevitable confrontation with the outside world. The Tarap, the most exposed valley, will be his field of investigation. Today one can meet young graduates who are fighting to preserve their culture, not that of their books, but that of their ancestors. We will follow Purwa, a young teacher in the valley, who is probing the lifestyle and spirit of his people in an attempt to reveal the riches buried and which are now threatened. A journey of the heart in a motionless world, where time has started to tick. What future will the world hold for these Tibetan communities still preserved and intact due to their high mountain isolation? Forged by an extreme climate and arduous living conditions, will these strong men, bearers of values that benefit humanity, know how to adapt without losing their souls, in a world whose heart beats for money? For this research to be done and this film to happen, you are invited to support, even modestly, to this project.
